The Al-Nahrain Center Holds a Specialized Meeting to Evaluate Mobile and Fixed Security Checkpoints and Issues a Number of Recommendations

Within the scientific plan of the Al-Nahrain Center, the Department of Security Studies and Counter-Terrorism held a specialized meeting entitled “Evaluation of Mobile and Fixed Security Checkpoints” on 24/5/2026, with the participation and attendance of representatives from the various relevant security agencies.

The meeting witnessed discussions on the reality of the work of security checkpoints in Iraq and the mechanisms for developing their performance in a way that contributes to enhancing security, traffic flow, and improving the efficiency of field procedures, in addition to reviewing the challenges related to the organization and deployment of fixed and mobile checkpoints and the extent of their compatibility with security and service requirements.

The participants also addressed a number of visions and proposals aimed at developing the checkpoint system through adopting more effective methods in management and organization, and benefiting from modern technologies in a way that enhances the speed of response and achieves a balance between security requirements and citizens’ needs.
