Al-Nahrain Center discusses the draft of the Basra Environment and Climate Charter and affirms the role of civil society in confronting climate change

Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies – Energy, Water and Environment Department, in cooperation with the Popular Aid Organization, discussed the draft of the “Basra Environment and Climate Charter” and the role of civil society organizations in strengthening integrated efforts to confront the effects of climate change, in the presence of representatives from a number of ministries and specialized entities.

The session witnessed discussions on mechanisms for integrating the objectives of the charter within international forums and agreements, and emphasized the importance of adopting it as a national document with an international dimension concerned with climate adaptation issues and developing strategic solutions to environmental and climate challenges.
