Al-Nahrain Center Participates in the First Scientific Conference on Addressing Poverty and Unemployment in Iraq

Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies participated in the activities of the First Scientific Conference on Addressing the Phenomena of Poverty and Unemployment in Iraq, which was held under the slogan “Integration of Knowledge and Policies Towards Fair and Sustainable Solutions that Create Impact,” under the patronage of the Minister of Planning, Dr. Khalid Battal, and the Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Helo Al-Askari, with the participation of a group of academics, experts, and decision-makers.

The participation of the center came within the framework of its continuous efforts to support vital developmental issues and contribute to formulating scientific visions that contribute to reducing the economic and social challenges facing the country, especially those related to the high rates of poverty and unemployment.

The conference witnessed the presentation of a number of research papers and studies that addressed the causes of the aggravation of poverty and unemployment, while presenting recommendations that focused on the necessity of enhancing investment in human capital, developing economic legislation, and activating partnerships between the public and private sectors.
