The Economic Studies Department at Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies held a specialized workshop entitled “Evaluating Remittance Initiatives for Iraqi Banks within the Outcomes of Iraqi Banking System Reforms”, with the participation of a group of specialists and experts in financial and banking affairs.

The workshop discussed the reality of banking remittance initiatives in Iraq and the extent of their alignment with the path of reforms witnessed by the banking system, in addition to analyzing the challenges facing the implementation of these initiatives, whether at the level of infrastructure or regulatory and legislative frameworks.

The workshop also addressed the impact of these initiatives on enhancing financial inclusion, improving the efficiency of banking operations, and achieving financial stability, along with reviewing comparative international experiences and the possibility of benefiting from them to improve the performance of the Iraqi banking sector.
