Enhancing Water Governance in Iraq

The Head of the Energy, Environment, and Water Department, Professor Jawad Al-Khaikani, participated in the second preparatory meeting of the steering committee for the National Water Dialogue, as part of ongoing efforts aimed at developing water resource management in Iraq, in the presence of the Minister of Water Resources.

This meeting comes within the transition phase from preparation to joint institutional work, in line with the state's orientations toward strengthening governance in the water sector and improving coordination mechanisms among relevant entities.

The meeting also discussed the importance of aligning international commitments with national reform priorities, in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable water resource management and enhancing integration among various related sectors.
