Al-Nahrain Center participates in a workshop on promoting closed-system aquaculture technology to address water scarcity

The Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies / Department of Energy, Water and Environment participated in a workshop titled “Promoting Closed-System Technology in Fish Farming to Address Water Scarcity”, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture / Department of Agricultural Extension and Training and Animal Production, in cooperation with the Rawafid Foundation for the Development and Protection of Aquatic Life, and attended by a number of specialists, researchers, and stakeholders concerned with the fisheries sector and water resources management.

The workshop aimed to introduce modern aquaculture technologies, particularly the Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS), which is considered one of the sustainable solutions for reducing water consumption and increasing production efficiency, in light of the challenges facing Iraq due to climate change and the decline in water inflows.
