The Secretariat of the Supreme National Committee for Vulnerability and Stability Assessment held a meeting at the Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies to discuss a study on the possibility of measuring the level of compliance with laws within the State Fragility Index, with the aim of addressing any potential deviations, whether in the substance and drafting of legal legislation or in the mechanisms of its enforcement.
The meeting was chaired by the Secretary of the Committee and attended by representatives of the relevant entities, including the State Council, the Ministry of Interior, the National Security Service, the Counter Terrorism Service, the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, and the Popular Mobilization Commission. The discussions focused on the soundness of legal legislation and the extent of its practical enforceability.
This meeting comes within the framework of national efforts aimed at strengthening the rule of law, developing enforcement mechanisms, addressing cases of overlap between laws, and exploring the possibilities of redrafting them in accordance with the approved competencies, in a manner consistent with the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq of 2005.
