Al-Nahrain Center and the Ministry of Health Discuss Mechanisms to Address Cyber Blackmail in a Specialized Workshop

Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies / Artificial Intelligence Division, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, organized a specialized workshop at the Ministry’s headquarters that addressed the phenomenon of cyber blackmail and methods to limit it, with the participation of representatives from a number of ministries and governmental institutions.

The workshop was delivered by Engineer Yasser Karim Nasser from the Artificial Intelligence Division, who reviewed the latest methods of cyber blackmail spreading through social media networks and digital platforms, explaining the ways victims are lured and the modern techniques used by blackmailers.

The workshop covered several key themes, including mechanisms for investigation and early detection of blackmail attempts, preventive measures and safe interaction with cyberspace, as well as a review of digital protection procedures and the role of governmental institutions in strengthening cybersecurity and reducing such crimes.
