Al-Nahrain Center Holds a Workshop on the Outcomes of Iraqi Banking Sector Reforms

The Economic Studies Department at the Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies / National Security Advisory organized a specialized workshop titled “Outcomes of Iraqi Banking Sector Reforms,” with the participation of the Representative of the Prime Minister, a representative of the Central Bank of Iraq, as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Securities Commission, and representatives from Al-Rafidain Bank, the Agricultural Bank, and the Association of Private Banks.

The participants discussed the most prominent outputs of the recent reform packages witnessed by the banking sector, and the achievements made in enhancing financial stability and supporting economic growth pathways. The sessions also presented analytical readings of the existing challenges and proposed practical recommendations to improve the banking environment and increase its efficiency.

The workshop emphasized the need to maintain continuous coordination between governmental and financial institutions to ensure the success of the reform path and achieve the strategic objectives related to modernizing the financial sector in Iraq.
