The Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies participated in a specialized workshop titled “Aligning Iraqi Legislation to Address Environmental and Climate Challenges,” organized by the Popular Rescue Organization in Erbil Governorate, with the participation of a group of researchers, experts, and representatives of government entities and organizations concerned with the environment.

The workshop addressed recent environmental developments in Iraq, the most prominent current legislation, and the legal gaps that require updating to keep pace with the accelerating climate changes. It also discussed strengthening legislative frameworks to ensure the sustainable management of natural resources and support adaptation plans and efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change.
